To answer your question, in my opinion, no matter where you go to medical school, you always have to prove yourself capable of being a Doctor at the end of the journey. I think if you are capable of getting thhrough med school and passing your boards you are most likely capable of landing a residency, unless you don't interview well (which is a problem within itself). But, IMG's are or can be just as good as any USMG's.
