What do you think of our new look?
Med Studentz has now been active for over 6 years! In that time, due to the great contributions from our users, we have helped thousands of people get the information that they've needed.
Six years is quite a long time for a website though, and as time went on we found that our server software had become outdated and our site was not functioning as effectively as possible.
Because of this, we recently decided to upgrade the software that runs the back-end of the server.
At the same time we also upgraded to improved software for the actual forums so that it would make reading and posting a lot easier for our users, while at the same time keeping out the users who sign up just so that they can post spam.
With all the changes happening to the front and back ends of the site we decided to also refresh the website's logo image that is shown at the very top of the page.
We are pretty happy with how the new version turned out, but are wondering what our users think also. If you have a moment, vote on the poll and/or leave us some comments to let us know what you think of our new look!

I see that the "REPLY", QUOTE", and "THANK YOU" buttons have changed as well! Hopefully more users will use them now as they stand out more.July 21st, 2012, 11:39 PM #3August 11th, 2012, 05:53 AM #4
Apologies if using the site lately has lead to some disorientation!
We are trying new options on our layout to see if we can find a way which makes it easier for users to navigate to the sections of the site they use the most.
We of course welcome all honest feedback. If you don't like something, we want to know!August 13th, 2012, 12:50 AM #5
Actually there is a problem. If a user wants to post two separate comments on the same thread, then both comments are posted as one post bt saying it as 'updated'. let me show you that.
--- Updated ---
see that is the main problem. and it creates fuss if we want to reply to two different usersAugust 13th, 2012, 01:07 AM #6August 13th, 2012, 03:48 AM #7
Thanks for posting. The reason we implemented this was so that users who are posting multiple times in a short period of time are not creating a lot of extra posts and making it harder for someone to read through a thread. Some users will post 5 posts in a row where they could instead consolidate all their replies into one post.
There is a downside which is that if two posts are merged regarding different topics, if a person was to quote that post, there could be some confusion.
Like Waleed said, try to use the "Multi-Quote" feature. It is in the bottom right corner and it allows you to choose multiple posts that you can then reply to. To make it work click the multi-quote button on which ever post you wish to quote and then click on the post reply button.
I will go ahead and disable the automatic post merging for now while we fine tune it to make it work better with the way our users interact.
