    Pleasseee Help Me

Hi guys. I'm from Pakistan. I just have so many questions to ask. Pleaseeee help me. I just completed my Olevels and I'm planning to become a doctor one day. I have two options right now: First is that I continue my studies with Alevel(which is extremely difficult to score good marks) and the other is that I go for First Year and Inter(which is quite easy as compared to Alevel and we can easy get good percentage for admissions in any uni). The problem is, if I go for FSSC/ inter I have to do it privately and for Alevels I have many options of the best colleges of Karachi(Nixor,Cedar etc). If I choose inter, I'll get admission in any medical universities because the entry test is based entirely on Matric not Alevels plus I'll have a good percentage also. BUT I won't be able to have any backup or options to apply abroad. My Questions are: 1- what should I do? What would you do if you were me?
2- Whats the difference between medical abroad? I've heard in Pakistan it's 6-7 lacs per year while in foreign countries it's 50 lacs. I really want to go there.
3-Also if I choose Matric, will I get in AKU?
4- Can you tell me any medical volunteership programs in UK for Olevel students? For a month? Like in October or November or December?

    Assalam u Alaikum!
Dear Arisha... I am glad to see your interest to become a doctor with a wonderful passion. I will be happy If I can help you and guide you what to do next, what is better for you.
Ask me any question I will answer you. if you like then do that if you don't like then tell me reason.
    Let's start.

As Good Medical College. Aga Khan University is best. How Aga khan best because it provide you strong support. Aga khan will make your CV so strong that you can be able to choose your own residency. After MBBS you need to give USMLE exams for your US residency to become a complete Doctor at international level. All depend upon which kind of doctor you want to be. Aga khan is private medical college but it far better than government medical colleges. like AIMC RMC . you just have to focus on AKU Entry Test. AKU standard just like other international medical colleges in foreign countries. you will be able to save your 42 lacs yearly. if you really want to go abroad and study there. then try West Virginia University Washington US. there yearly fee is 16000$. My sister studying there. She has a good opportunity to get residency of own choice as US residence base. They prefer US Medical candidates over international candidates. This competition from all over the world. residency program duration different base on your specialty. CARDIOLOGY 4 year residence after MBBS. Neurosurgeon 7 years residency program after MBBS. All depend on your determination level. If you really want to become a good doctor at international level your ultimate focus should be on your desired residency selection of own interest. where ever you study you have to go through USMLE exams then US residency selection for a good and complete doctor to serve the people of world as being Doctor. Now choose yourself what suits on you. what is the way best for you according to your home situation and your study situation. Mostly affects your own desire what you want to be in your life.. as you tell me what you want and what are your resources on that base. I will guide further and tell you what is best for you. here Pakistan best or abroad best. Take decision with full confirmation that you doing right. Before decision you must need to know the effects of your decision on your rest of your life..

Good Luck! I am here for you help.. you can ask any question from me. But be sensitive. I hope you will take good decision.

    Best Regards,
    Amin

I will share details later! my sister did FSc. and got 935 marks then she did ILETS and get 8+ band out of 9 band. other details I will submit later. How she got admission in West Virginia University. . Now up to you. if your decision to go abroad you can do Alevels or FSc. Doesn't matter in admission. if you do A level high marks required. if you do FSc high marks required. Both required high marks. But the thing which will be helpful in Medical field that is A level. A level train you how to study for Medical profession. There is a great difference in FSc study and MBBS study.

You should go with Alevels! You will face some trouble while preparing for mcat once you are done with alevels, but i d suggest you to do alevels......as far going abroad is concerned, i m talking about usa, there is a 4 year pre-med course which you MUSt take for doing MD (doctor of medicine) which is also a 4 year course in general. Its a very long procedure that requires time patience.!

Thankyou for the advice, Muslim! But now I guess I'm left with FSC:pensive: I've started the studies and also declined Alevels offers from all the schools. Most of the people tell me that 80% of the entry test paper is from board so I had to choose FSC:pensive:
Please guide me with chances of getting admission in AKU! I want to go there onlyyy:sob:

    Great!
AKU is Best for you. MCAT exam is for UHS and there is separate test for AKU. so don't worry.. you have to know about AKU test composition. any other question? about which you want to know.. you can ask...

    Good Luck! Arisha...

    Regards,
    Amin

Well...admission at agha khan doesn't solely depends upon ur results but ur personality too! If you really want to get into AKU, you have to boost urself with extracurricular activities! I have seen hundreds of people who used to study with me and those who were seniors with best grades in alevels but denied by agha khan! Where as, those who always remained engrossed in extracurricular activities and had satisfactory grades were able to get into agha khan and lums ( lums isnt a medical university)...the major weightage is based on the interview they conduct!
