Join Date: Aug 2007 Status: Resident Location: usa | i just graduated from highschool... and im plannin on goin to a med skool in pakistan. idk wut i should do... im really confused... at first i wanted to become a pediatrician now idk nemore.. mayb n sum with anesthsia.... umm n should i even go to med skool overseas... is it better just to do it n america? yea it takes longer but dont u have a btter chance? idkk nethin can help rite now |

Join Date: Aug 2007 Status: Medical Student Location: Prague, Czech Republic | Hey Sairaz,I'd definitely suggest that you keep American med schools as your first option in case you want to practice medicine in the US. But if time and financial comittment is the restraint, then I'd suggest that you go for Carribean schools (ofcourse the time would be still same).....if not I'd suggest you go for the European medical programs (the ones in Central Europe--Poland, Czech Republic, and Hungary). They have 6 yr med programs and are done right outta high school. The Univ. I'll be attending also has a CA accredition which means that one can practise in all the 50 states of the US. I have finished my high school too and I'm joining in October. But since the dates for enrollement are over (as you have also missed the entrance exam), then you would have to apply for next yr. Good luck in choosing a medical school. |

| 1- Medical Student 2- neurosurgery 3- though and a very important branch 4- I have wanted to study med. since I was 14 years old. I took biochemistry, anatomy and psyology before I attend to med school 5- I am studying med in İstanbul but I am studying in English and preparing myself for USMLE. 6- In US or my country 7- If I can open a big center yes; otherwise no 8- planning so much may create dissappointments I plan so much but prefer not to write them in here Hi everyone from the largest city of Europe, Istanbul Marmara University School of Medicine... |
