Join Date: Jul 2006 Status: Pre-Medical Location: Miami, FL | 1) [we already know your name] what level are you in?
a. high school, thinking about going to med. school. b. pre-med school.
c. med. school.
d. graduated med school.
e. Doctor.
2) What specialty do you wish to go in? Cardiothoracic Surgery/ Cardiology
3) Why did you choose that branch? I used to want to do Neurology but I quickly learned that it was not for me just by reading the books and whatnot. It totally bored me to death. My grandmother died of heart disease and although this was not my 100% motivations it was the beginning thought of what I was going to fall madly in love with. I took a CPR/ First Responder Class and the subject absolutely fascinated me. I cannot wait.
4) What makes you different from other med school students/Doctors? I believe we all have different passions, interests, and different things that drives us and makes us unique in many aspects. My passion for Cardiology is what keeps me going through school when Im down and feeling like I can no longer make it. I absolutely love it.
5) What steps have you taken already to prepare you for the future residency? I have acquired my First Responder license and I will be working on my EMT to get my Paramedics. Also Ive been volunteering at hospitals and I have done ride time on ambulances. I plan on applying for internships soon.
6) where do you plan to pratice medicine? Right now the field is tough. I believe that I will practice it where ever it is available to me. Mainly I want to work at the Cleaveland Clinic in Ohio, or in a good hospital in New York; but I cant be picky right now. Eventually I want to own my own practice. Ill take it as it comes, I have not even started yet lol.
7) Do you plan to ever open a clinic of your own someday? Yes. 8] Where do you see yourself 10yrs from now?[ 10 years from now I hope to be a successful surgeon doign what I love (Medicine) with a beautiful healthy family. I will feel truly blessed. -May | | | |

| 1) c.medical student(2nd year, mbbs) 2) I wish to go in the field of surgery esp. interested in cardiac surgery or it can be some other field of surgery,so cant exactly tell before having some clinical experience. 3) If I ever join cardiology, the reason would definitely be the same as somebody else said, life begins and ends at heart—the most imp. And delicate organ of the body. Cardiosugery is quite challenging and risky and I love accepting challenges.Still if I join some other field which isn’t yet decided, how can I tell ya the reason for that…simple…haha 4) My individuality lies in being an all-rounder…best at studies and best at at extra-curricular activities. I am not a crammer as many students around me they are and I never limit my study just to pass the exam,I always try to make my vision broader and try to get as much info as possible about anything.in short,u can say I have the passion to go beyond…..to reach the height of glory in every thing because I believe,in great attempts, its glorious even to fail! 5) Still long way to go. I don’t need to worry at the moment. 6) God willing. 7) No, I don’t think so or may be yes! 8) I see myself as a renowned and good dr.(good at knowledge, good at skill and of course a good human-being).God willing. | | | |

3) i like to work under pressure and i think i do well when i'm under pressure. it's all about keeping ur nerves !
4) i listen more than i talk.
5) absolutely nothing ,....i dont believe in long term plans,....IF it's going to happen it's going to happen and nothing can stop it ,....and if it's not going to happen , it wont happen and nothing u do can change that.
6) i might attempt going abroad but i will evetually return to good ol Pakistan which needs my attention the most !
7) most probably ,...i can't say for sure tho,....but IF things work out ,...i wud love to have a little place of my own. | | | |
