Join Date: Feb 2008 Status: Other Location: Queens | 1) What level are you in? im currently in high school junior year, Brooklyn Technical Highschool in NY. 2) What specialty do you wish to go in? i want to become a pediatric cardiologist 3) Why did you choose that branch? i love working with kids 4) What makes you different from other med school students/Doctors? im not a medical student yet  5) What steps have you taken already to prepare you for the future residency? well that is really far away because i am just in highschool but i volunteer in The Columbia University Hospital Overhere and have a job at Mt. SInai Hospital 6) where do you plan to pratice medicine? Join Date: Mar 2008 Status: Pre-Health (Field Undecided) Location: Los Angeles, CA | 1) What level are you in? I am pre-med/pre-grad. I just finished my undergrad degree, and am taking a break because I just gave birth to my daughter. Planning to apply to medical schools and grad schools. 2) What specialty do you wish to go in? I wish to go into OB/GYN or become a clinical embryologist (if you want to run your own clinic you have to be an MD or DO). 3) Why did you choose that branch? I love embryology, and enjoy working in women's health as I have worked in a couple doctor's offices specializing in women's health during my undergrad work. 4) What makes you different from other med school students/Doctors? I actually have my B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Reproductive Physiology, and began doing embryology in cattle and mice, but have done ICSI among other techniques to produce embryos. 5) What steps have you taken already to prepare you for the future residency? Nothing as of yet =/ 6) where do you plan to pratice medicine? Hoping to work in either Washington or Colorado (whenever my husband decides to go to school for his M.S.) 7) Do you plan to ever open a clinic of your own someday? Pondered it but would probably rather work at an established ART clinic for a quite a while. 8] Where do you see yourself 10yrs from now? Hopefully working in an embryologist position at an ART clinic, with two kids, a husband who has finished his degree in Managment of Information Systems, and a couple horses. |
