1) Medical Student of 3rd Year MBBS at Nishtar Medical College, Multan.

2) Medicine (most probably)

3) It just seems more interesting to me.

4) I joined medical college because my parents wanted me to become a doctor but i have begun to love this field and enjoy going to wards to see patients. It feels good to be able to help others with the knowledge one possesses.

5) I'm learning to take "Patient History" properly while i'm in the wards and the next time i go back to Canada, i'll try to volunteer daily at the hospital to get the experience. I'm also thinking about doing electives in the USA but i need to still do research on it as to how to apply?, duration?, timing?, etc...

6) Well first i'm going to do USMLE and do residency in USA, then i'll move back to Vancouver, Canada.

7) Inshallah i will open my own clinic as soon as possible.

8) In the next ten years, hopefully i will:-

- be married to a nice girl
- have a few kids (depends on the wife, but 3 for sure ...)
- my own house
- my own car
- my own clinic
- have sent my parents on vacations around the world a few times at least
- living in Canada

btw:-
- Born in Lahore, Pakistan
- Moved to Canada at the age of 8
- Studying MBBS at Nishtar Medical College, Mulatan - Pakistan
- My brother and sister are in King Edward Medical College, Lahore - Pakistan

Smile Hi!

My name's Debbie, and I am a pre-med freshmen majoring in molecular/cellular biology.
I intend on becoming a surgeon, and hopefully to work in the field of Cardiology.
I am choosing cardiology as my speciality not only for my fondness of this field, but because of the challenges and complexity I believe one faces when working in cardiology.
I don’t think anything really makes me different or sets me apart from other pre-med students, although I was home schooled my entire life until college.
The only steps I have really take towards my future residency would have to be; completing high school, starting college with a pre-med major, maintaining a 4.0gpa, volunteering at the local hospital and med school whenever the chances arise.
I plan to attend med school where I currently live, and then to possibly pursue my residency in the new england area where I was born.
I don’t particularly plan on opening a clinic of my own, but who knows...
In ten years from now I see my self hopefully finished with med school, and in pgy 2.

Hi everyone,

I'm a 5th year medical student from Cape Town, South Africa studying at Stellenbosch University. I've lived here all my life, it's truly an amazing country rich in cultural and ethnic diversity.

My special medical field of interest is Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. South Africa is one of the countries most affected by the burden of HIV, but the Western Cape (where I live) struggles with a dual epidemic of HIV and TB in the poorer communities. I just completed a month long elective in HIV medicine at a hospital here in Cape Town where 50-60% of patient admissions are HIV positive.

What makes me different from other medical students? I think all medical students share a variety of characteristics making us not that much different from each other, even though we might live on opposite sides of the world, come from different backgrounds and will work in different communities. Those of us who are studying medicine not just for the money probably chose this career because we want to try and make a difference in the world.

We get a lot of students from Germany and the Netherlands doing electives in SA and really enjoying it. I'll be able to get you contact details if you're interested.

Regards,
Liani
