Is an IMG the same from anywhere outside the US

Is an IMG that graduated outside the US looked at the same irrespective of where they attended med school outside the US. I wanted to know if a pakistani student would be on the same level as a Caribbean student if everything on the residency application was the same i.e. step score, LOR, research and that one just did med school from pakistan and another form the carribbean. I know that the carribbean med school have rotations at american hospitals? how much difference does that make when applying for residency and is there anyother large difference that separates a carribbean IMG from a paki IMG ----plz respond asap thanks

Caribbean med schools like Ross and St. George's would still be preferred over most other foreign med schools I believe. Some Pakistani medical schools are very well established (AKU) and would probably give you better chances than some Caribbean schools. As for all the rest of the schools in the world, I haven't a clue, but there are a lot of schools which have never been heard of and are not recognized by any official organization which would definitely not be a good place to graduate from. Pakistani schools and Caribbean schools both would be a much better choice than a lot of other places.

In short, no, all foreign schools are definitely not the same.

add Universitad Autonoma de Guadalajara to that list. It produces the largest number of IMG's to gain residency. St. George's comes second.
