Hi, I live in Canada and I have applied to AKMU and I will be applying to other Pakistani Medical Colleges as well such as KEMU and AIMC. I will be giving SAT Subject Tests in Biology, Chemistry and Math on June 6. My question is that should I write Math Level 1 or Math Level 2? Is there a preference by the Medical Colleges?

Thank You.

Oh well that's good news. So if I mess up my SAT 2 next month, I still have the chance of redoing it in October. But right now my plan is that from among the private Medical Colleges I'll stick to AKMU only. Any suggestions for any other good private medical colleges in Pakistan?

She said that the campus and the faculty are not good at all and that the standard of education is quite low. Plus the people are not helpful. She had to stay in the hostel and she complained that the hostel condition is very sad. I haven't even seen Shifa myself so I can't really comment on how accurate these judgments are. But if someone leaves it after completing second year of MBBS then they must have some pretty genuine reasons.

My SAT result = Fingers crossed. Thank u though

I wouldn't recommend basing your decision entirely on what I say. She told me that in Shifa you pay a lot but what you get for that money is not worth it. Try talking to some Shifa students, maybe find someone on this website, and do some additional research. KE is a very good option. If I was in your place then definitely I would prefer KE over Shifa. KE has a reputation which I don't know if Shifa has been able to achieve as yet.

So I had a question, for government medical colleges you only send in one application and then the merit list comes out, Right?

For Government medical colleges don't they have a special place on their website for Foreign Student Applications? What I did last year was actually go to Pakistan and met with the principle / dean of many different Medical colleges and they all told me just have your IBCC and SAT 2 and have those documents before the deadline for admissions. Most schools close admissions on October 30. I was one day late last year

Ok basically my situation is kinda complicated. I live in Canada and I am completing my High School from here but I am not a Canadian Citizen. I only moved here 2 years ago so I have the permanent resident status. So I don't even know if I will considered a foreign student or a local student. I called several colleges such as KE and Nishtar but these people have no idea. For now, I am lost.

Kofbean234 - Did you apply last year as well?

aaa123 - You need a minimum of B grade. And, try your best for foreign seats, if you can't get in on a foreign seat then your chances for getting in on a local seat is slim because the competition is very tough. We lose a lot of marks on equivalence so it is hard for us to compete with the locals. Whether you can apply as a local or not I am not sure.
