Sadly, you can't apply to any college in Pakistan. There is a rule made by the government that your high school/A levels etc. degree/diploma can not be more than 2 years old. In other words, if you are applying this year, 2010, then you must've graduated either in 2008, 2009 or 2010. Or else no college/university will take you.

I would suggest that you complete your college in USA, and see what you want to do further.

Hope you sort out all your problems. Best of luck.

Qaswedfr, This rule is mentioned in the prospectus of Govt. Medical Colleges 2009, Punjab. You can also further confirm with HEC, according to them this applies to all the Medical Colleges of the country.

Although, I must add that you can check with some of the private institutions, {preferably in Sindh} because they are at times lenient. The main issue with private institutes in Punjab is that most of them are under UHS, and because of which they follow very strict guidelines. Nevertheless, you can try & see. Goodluck.

ZainShah is correct there is a rule for the 2 year gap thing. But since you are doing college that does not apply to you. I personally know a friend who went to med school after a premed from u.s n she had no problems they just asked her to prove that she was studying after high school in college... thats all...

goodluck

qaswedfr, I go to KE (starting my 3rd year here), and I know a person in his 4th year who completed his undergraduate engineering degree from England before coming to KE. If there is such a rule that prohibits you from being admitted to government medical colleges in Punjab more than two years after completing 12th grade, I don't think it's very strictly enforced, so you should definitely give it a shot.

In third year there are eight foreigners (4 guys, 4 girls). In second year there are five foreigners (4 guys, one girl). In fourth year there are nine foreigners (all of them guys). In fifth year I know of 2 foreigners (one guy, one girl) but there might be others that I'm unaware of. I'm sure there are some in first year as well but I'm not aware of them either.

I think the standard number of seats is one seat per elligible country for PTAP, and four self-finance seats total. Some classes have extra foreigners because a few kids have been detained and that throws off the numbers a little bit.
