I took the SAT bio exam this last December and I was also going to take chem and math. I find that if your concepts are weak it is best to study from Princeton's and then read through Barron's for extra info. I did that and I did fine (740)
Arooj Study from review books of subjects if taking math it’s good to study from regent books, for English writes essays that you have studied from your English class. Its look like lots of study but if you just look in to books all the things will comes to your mind aromatically. The most importent thing is study first and at the last day before exam don't worry about any thing. Good luck Allah may help you.
Awesome. Thanks Hammad.
And since I'm international, I can do one of my subject tests in math instead of physics but the entrance exam for AKU includes physics for sure?
you are welcom. you could take SAT2 instead of entry exam. yes in entry yo have to take physics but not SAT2 I think.
words from AKU:
For Candidates applying from overseas
In accordance with the current rules of the PMDC,
candidates with qualifications other than those from the
Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education in
Pakistan are eligible to apply without a pre-med
equivalence i.e. with biology, chemistry and
mathematics (in lieu of physics). Such candidates will be
required to procure an eligibility certificate from PMDC
by submitting the following to PMDC:
i. SAT II examination score with minimum 550
marks in each subject i.e. biology, chemistry,
physics/ mathematics;
ii. Valid TOEFL or IELTS with a score of 500 or
5.5, respectively.
(1) iii. Equivalence from IBCC : this equivalence
should state that the candidates High School
achievement is equivalent to a High School
Its better if you ask AKU and if get inforamtion regard this so please post it to help others. thank you.
Good luck Allah may help you.
See, I'm very confused. Some places on their website say a minimum of 700. Others say a minimum of 550. Which one is it then? And also, I thought entrance exam was mandatory whether you take SAT II or not. Which internationals have to...Or do I not have to give their entrance exam?
"All applicants resident in Pakistan and overseas are required to write the Aga Khan University Admission Test irrespective of the curriculum or system of education followed."
PMDC requires a 550 on the SAT subject tests (SAT II) from all intl applicants.
AKU requires either a 700 in SAT subject tests (SAT II) or level 4 in AP for applicants from Canada/US.
From AKU's brochure:
"Candidates following any of these systems of education, if shortlisted are also required to submit SAT II in three or more subjects. The subjects must include biology, chemistry and physics.
Candidates from overseas may write mathematics in lieu of physics. The minimum required score for each of the three SAT II subjects is 700. Achievements in subjects additional to those required will earn credit during the selection.
Alternatively, candidates may submit three required Advanced Placement (AP) subjects in lieu of the three required SAT IIs. The minimum eligibility score is a '4' in each of the three subjects. Candidates must note that a combination of SAT II and AP is not acceptable."
how Sat subject looks like? do they pervoids chemistry reference table in the test or not? how many questions are there, do they all are multi-choices? Thank you.
