Assalam-o-Alakum,

I was applying to Army Medical College, through the NUST website and have just learned that in order to apply I must tell them my Equated Matric marks. The problem is that I am going to school in Canada, and have not had my equivalence done. I have contacted my school and they will give me the items required to get my equivalence done but by that time the deadline to apply for Army Medical College is going to be over.

I was wondering if anyone knew which courses the IBCC takes into consideration when they are doing the Matric Equivalence. The total marks the equivalence is out of, I heard it is 300 but I am not sure. I know for a fact that they take off 20% from the average of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and an extra course that is your highest mark for the FSc (Premedical) equivalence certificate. But which courses do they assess for the Matric Equivalence. Also, do they deduct 20% from the Martic marks aswell?

if someone could tell me which courses they consider when issuing a Matric Equivalence and the amount of % they deduct, it would be highly appreciated. I don't want someone to just say, Ohh look over in older threads, I have been a member for almost a year and am aware of the other threads. So answers only please.!

Jazakullah

W.Alaikum Asalam,

i can't answer all your questions but since i've recently got my matric equivalence done so i do have a bit of an idea.

Yes, it is true that they deduct marks off your final mark. The deduction depends on the system through which you've given your exams. For those who've done them through British system, 10% are deducted from their marks. (I know this for def. as i'm doing my studies through British system). For Americans and canadians they deduct 20% - due to ''internal assessment''

The courses they consider are Bio, chem, phys , English and one other with the best grade and the Matric equvilance certificate is out of 900.

Hope this helped and for sure experienced members of the forum would be able to help you out better.
Salam.

Catalyst you could get your equivalence from IBCC for medical after 9,10,11,12 (HSSc) in pakistan its FSc. second chance of geting it is after compleating bio, phys, and chem. In USA and Canada students strat taking these three science course from 9-11/12 grade. I don't know why UNST asked you for Matric may be you pervioded only grade 9 and 10's transcrpit which meain it wasn't HSSc. hope by now your confusion is away. Good luck Allah may help you:happy:

NUST is asking for my SSC/Matric (which is grade 9 and 10) but I don't have my grade 9 and 10 marks equated. I doubt I can get them equated by April 30, seeing as how I'm in Canada and it would take too much time to get the necessary papers ready.

I was thinking I could just send my papers but while I wait I just deduct 20% from the marks they accept and based on that I apply to NUST :S
