Only 5% students from levels secure admission in Uhs on local seats.
Sat is easy I a sense you can plan it on different dates for diff. Subjects. Can appear in it thrice a year.
Scores are valid for 2 years.
And if a person in same year scores 2200 in sat and 750 in Mcat then surely Mcat is difficult. Topics for Mcat are given in both courses fsc or A levels.

This year there's going to be overseas Pakistanis applying as well and the chances of foreign nationals who sincerely wanted to attend med-school in Pakistan are going to be squandered. I would have had no problem if it was a level playing field, either no 15% deduction in our FSc marks or the whole admission process based on just SAT marks. This rule change is driving me crazy and I've tried to contact the ministers and such but none of them have replied in their typical Pakistani style.
its a fair decision because like dual nationals overseas people also contribute a lot to Pakistan's economy or i must say they do it better then dual nationals who mostly and usually just take the degree from Pakistan but when it comes to paying back they do it in the other country of which they have the nationality.........(most of the times but not always)!
and instead of repenting and cursing this decision why don't they improve there own abilities and work harder and still get in in spite of the increase in merit............(i mean no offence...just giving my opinion)
and not saying this cz i myself am applying for overseas category but any neutral and unbiased body would say that and that is why the decision has been taken....after all the policy makers must have taken all the pros and cons into consideration!

merit on foreign seats its going to have a drastic change in it! with 82% ......its highly unlikely......(sorry to say)...i am applying for overseas too with 85.88.....and i know a real lot of people applying in this category with high aggregates and thats just in my city in fact just in my college....so u can imagine..i think merit for this category shall only have hardly a difference of 1% or 1.5% from the closing merit of local seats!

A person who has foreign nationality and wealth cannot bear the heat of Multan or bhawalpur. Many people are applying to get a seat in Lahore or pindi.
In gov med colleges infrastructure is not up to the standards for foreigners.
I'm already in mbbs first year in Fumc rwp.
In hostels of gov colleges ragging is very severe.
I don't think anyone can bear it except locals.
    For boys ragging is lethal.
Some people join private college just to stay in their own city avoiding the gov hostel.
    Horrible place.

Natelie, I dont think you fully underatand the effect of this rule change. You're asking me to work harder. I worked my butt off to secure a 91% average in high school. Fairly certain that I land near the top of the class. A 91% equates to 1001 in FSc but due to the unfair equivalency procedures , my marks have been reduced to 76%. Completely annihilating any hopes of admission in a good medical college such as KE or Allama Iqbal. In order to get admission into these colleges I would have to get 100% in high school, which is unheard of, the highest in my province was a 95!

So you see it is not about our work ethic or our marks but its the system which isn't fair to all candidates. Our marks have been reduced so much that it isn't even possible to compete with other students.
    kobefan234 and Natelie like this.

Everystudent that applies from the US or Canada or any other western country must obtain an equivalence certificate before they can apply anywhere in Pakistan. This according to them makes our FSc equivalent to Pakistan, becauseapparently our curriculum doesn't match that of Pakistan. Our FSc marks are reduced 15% because this is supposed to bring us on equal footing with other Pakistanis. In previous years, all candidates were getting this 15% reduction because they were all applying from US, Canada etc and I had no problem with that. But this year there's people applying who won't have to go through this process and their marks will be taken as is.
