So when's the best time to take the USMLES when you're attending a Pakistani Medical School, that includes but is not limited to DOW, Shifa Medical , AKU, Kind Edwards.
If you have already given it or are planning to give it, please include your thoughts here, I believe this can be a very helpful thread, and I want to have a kind of mind set when I go to Paki (inshAllah) when I will take it.

For foreign medical students the only part of the USMLE that's worth taking before graduation is the USMLE step 2 CS. Since the school year follows the calendar year in Pakistan, you'll always be left with at least 6 months after graduation in which you can take the other 2 exams you need to apply to American residency programs.June 1st, 2011, 01:28 PM #3

I'm not a Pakistani medical student but follow the 5 year program in the UK. I guess it depends from person to person, but people here choose to take Step 1 after third/fourth year.University of East Anglia MBBS 2015June 1st, 2011, 10:59 PM #6

AKU students can give there step1 in their 4th year as they finish their basic sciences courses by the end of 2nd year (which usually drags till 4th in govt aswell as other private colleges)... very few students from other colleges give step1 before graduating.June 8th, 2011, 03:25 AM #8
