    Which one is the least expensive private medical college of Pakistan?

    I am going to take admission in one of those. I wanted to know which one is the least expensive private medical college in Pakistan, not taking AMC as private. Please let me know. Also about the scholarships and all types of financial support these colleges provide. I'd be thankful.

    Most of the private medical colleges have a similar fee structure
    EXCEPT
    Wah Medical College situated in the Wah Cantt.
    It is, at present, the cheepest private medical college (as far as i know).
    Its fee structure is available on its site.

    fee structure of wah medical college even sums up to 20 lacs .

    i'm sharing wording of a Shalamar medical college student on this forum named masterh ;

    'Shalamar is a trust run college.. This year and the previous year, there are students who got 100% fee waiver on merit. 1st year students, the top 3 on merit list get around 80-90% fee waiver and if financially unwell, there are students who got 100% waiver on merit + financial situation.

    More than 50 students per each MBBS class of 100, get a tuition fee waiver of around 20 to 50% of the fee on merit as well as on financial situation of the guardian.

    There are financial assistance forms are available every year before the start of every session. Merit based scholarships are given automatically to 2nd year promoted students and above on the basis of their UHS Professional Marks. However, if scholarship is not granted on merit, one can apply for financial based scholarships as well... Means that of you do well throughout your medical education in Shalamar, you could end up paying the same fee as NUST (AMC).' #cool

    so what is the criteria of financial support? it is awarded if the student is financially weak... but the question is, how much weak? this is something helpful for students as the other merit scholarships are provided to all students... let me know the criteria of financial support...

    Wajeeh! fact is that except in few colleges, financial assistance is very rarely granted . . mostly merit scholarships are awarded .

    FMH, Sheikh Zyaed claim to give financial assistance but students studying there told me of a single such case .

    privates have become money sucking machines #angry.
    yeah! if u can make to merit of Aga Khan like university . . financial assistance is granted to almost half of the students there...
    & it is need based > i remember shalamar financial assistance form last year . .
    they ask for each & every detail of your family, you can get even 100% of tution fee waiver depending on the need.

    Obviously! you will have to provide details of total income, assets of your family, other sources etc. etc.
    Shalamar strictly obeys the merit & it was above 75% in terms of aggregate by 70,30 formulae .

    I have seen many of your posts in this forum and always found them informative .. thanks for that ..

    Continuing this topic, i saw on Avicenna Medical College's website that they also offer scholarships but they are not need based, unfortunately. But if you score well in medical years then definitely you have chances to waive of your fees to some extent ..
    Had interview in Avicenna Medical College, but i am confuse about if that is a good medical college or not? in which category we can put Avicenna Medical College ?? Also, what about medical college of University of lahore? do they offer any scholarships ?? I heard that UHS has declared them bad .. but they are not connected with UHS, right?

    How do you guys suggest if this will be a safe thing to take admission in university of lahore in Mbbs?? I am asking while keeping in mind that they are not affiliated with UHS ..

    Please let us know ..

    Thanks ..

    ThankS from my side also..
    often people ask same questions... 2 guys consulted me on this forum for Avicenna & Lahore university . . . here are my replies respectively ;

    '

    Avicenna students produced 100% result in UHS prof exams last year .
    this made their name glamorous & shocked medical world... thats why their papers are going to be checked for the third time & nothing fraudulent found yet .

    my next door neighbor studies there . . he says that professors in avicenna make the students work very hard . '

    'i was offered admission for mbbs in 2 privates last year . . 1 was university medical college . . didnt join due to financial constraints, but believe or not ! they allowed me to attend classes for 2 days . . though i had a good experience in anatomy department & physiology lecture theater, but i didnt find faculty much experienced, rather there were some very young teachers.'

    may be they are still in court, for not being affiliated with uhs & uhs deteriorated their image for this reason, so anything worse can happen to this medical college in future . . better dont join it.' #frown

    its better to take admission in Avicenna rather than Lahore university & if 1 didnt get admission anywhere in renowned medical colleges then Avicenna is a good option .
    i will definitely pray . . u please do for me .
