you are right we are in the same boat and for the ap couses, I asked the same question from the guy in the IBCC office because I am also taking ap courses. so his reply was actually rude because he told me that we dont expect Alberta students to give exams based on american system because they have external examination (diploma exam), but they do except AP for students living in US and other provinces of Canada.
he didnt provided me a full answer but I think we should get credits for AP courses.
I think from his answers regarding AP, we should not drop those courses and focus on diploma exmaination but in my opinion to be on the safe side we should work on both the diplomas as well as ap courses, this way we could have two options and let IBCC choose what ever they think is right#yes

No problem:)
as for the 7.5% deduction I know this infromation from that IBCC guy but you probably know our pakistani system and people, I am not guranteeing this info but he said that previously it was 20 % but now it has change.
I think it makes sense to me because 7.5 % is for AB students because they take length courses and 15 % for other provinces( IBCC office) as they only give school exams
this is clearly explained on the IBCC website as they say that credits will be given to students who take length courses
