## Help in SHM

(Q) The displacement of a particle executing SHM is half of its amplitude.The fraction of its kinetic energy will be ?

ANS) 3/4

can someone tell me how do we get this ?

and a tip to solve these type of questions ?

because im not very good at maths :/

Q) If a length of a pendulum becomes 4 times then its time period will be ?

ANS) two times

i know this is a simple question but i just dont know how to do it -_-

Q)A simple pendulum is suspended in a lift and its tme period of oscillation ,when the lift is stationary is T. If the lift starts moving downwards with an acceleration 3g/4,the time period will become ?

formula to be used : T= 2pi ^ squareroot of L/g-3g/4 - September 5th, 2013, 12:34 PM #2
question number 2 : original length= L , new length=4L

T=2pi square root L/g

put new value of L in the formula

now new time period whose length is 4L :

T'=2pi square root 4L/g

put out square root 4 from equation

now we get

T'=2 pi square root L/g (square root 4 )

T'=T (square root 4)

T'=T(2)
