First off, don't be intimidated by this test...you need confidence if you are going to be able to prepare and do well on the exam. It is not impossible to achieve a high score and if you put your mind to it, you will have no problem doing well.
To prepare for it, I personally would recommend getting Barron's book for those three tests you mentioned. You will read that certain books are better than others for certain tests. That may be true but I used Barron's for all three exams and did pretty decent for the amount of time I put in. Another company that I would recommend (for chemistry and physics) is the princeton review. They do a good job writing practice tests that are fairly similar to the level of difficulty of the actual test. If you have studied these three subjects in detail in your 10-12 grade then you should have no problem preparing for this test. That being said, good luck.
p.s...when you get any of these books, they will have a little monologue about how the test works and how the scoring is and many other annswers about the test. That should answer most if not all your questions.August 9th, 2013, 09:50 AM #3
(My post count was too low to reply...)
I think it may help to buy the other barrons book. The 3rd edition with a CD has 2 extra tests that I think can be very beneficial. If you want to be over prepared, you can just use the AP Biology book (you can find this online if you do some digging), but that has a lot of extra information not on the test. I'm not really in any place to comment on the older editions because I haven't seen any, but I don't think it will be a problem. Use sparknotes.com/testprep/sat2/ for all the subjects first. It is very simple and shows exactly what will be tested on the SAT. Use the website together with the books you already have and you should be fine.
