that was the best news ever for me..November 3rd, 2013, 01:43 PM #43
I don't see the point why these colleges are taking their own test when UHS already is a standard, they should take students on the basis UHS aggregate not their stupid test about which we don't know a thing.November 3rd, 2013, 02:08 PM #44November 3rd, 2013, 02:26 PM #45
No, UHS aggregate sux ballz. MCAT as a test was an embarrassment. They should try to take their own tests.
And believe me, all of it will be from F.Sc. I mean it would be better for them if they had it from a levels(since majority going to private college will have done a levels) but I guess people who give F.Sc have become rich enough to get in which is why its still all f.scNovember 3rd, 2013, 02:39 PM #46November 3rd, 2013, 02:56 PM #47November 3rd, 2013, 02:59 PM #48November 3rd, 2013, 03:04 PM #49November 3rd, 2013, 03:15 PM #50November 3rd, 2013, 03:22 PM #51November 3rd, 2013, 03:28 PM #52
FMH And CMH Aptitude Test
I THINK maybe u wanted to say that the country is still following the convention which is the majority graduating with fsc....and still sticking entirely to that syllabus and not renewing it every year according to the ratio of the fsc/alevel students.
If it wasnt what u meant to say..it shouldve been..
Its got nothing to do with the fsc or alevel multitude's money...
Its just the education system doesnt bother to look into itself every year...
They dont follow the trend...
Thats basically the problem.November 3rd, 2013, 03:54 PM #53
Oh that's it? I thought you were gonna defend uhs and say mcat was a very good test.
Let me explain myself. Ever since the british came, people who could afford to have their children do a levels always made them do a levels. And people who couldn't did F.Sc(the vast majority). But then these people could also send their kids for college to foreign countries. And back then so few people did a levels that the ones that did were easily take into medical colleges(at least that's my mom tells me).
Now due to many reasons, things changed. A new burgeoning middle class arose, who wanted the same things for their kids that the upper class did. So they were able to have children to a levels but couldn't afford to send them out the country for college. This put the country in a precarious position. No longer were folks who did a levels simply able to get in. There were too many of them and this even confused the pmdc, uhs people. Which is why in 2010 you had 2 entry tests which turned out to be a sham because even the one with a levels had f.sc questions because the people in nts are incredibly stupid and lazy. Then they went back to one entry test saying that it has 30% questions from a levels which is false(how many questions in this mcat do you think one could have found the answer from an a level book but not from a f.sc book?). So at this point the govt appeases the masses since they have to be elected by them and which is why the mcat is solely from f.sc despite having a sizeable minority that does a levels. Best solution this would be reserving seats for those who do a levels based on the population and demographics.
Now, some rich people have wisened. The ones who want their progeny to be doctors are making them do f.sc even if they can afford a levels. Also people willingly choose f.sc now, not just because of the money constraints. Also, some people who can't afford to have their children enrol in private medical colleges borrow money from their relatives and then have their children do mbbs from private medical colleges.
So when I said people doing f.sc got richer, I meant some actually did and some richer people are now choosing f.sc
Now I had heard that f.sc books were terrible and I just thought people were being lazy, but now I've come to realise that they really are terrible. For instance they are still writing sulphuric acid, when it's now supposed to be sulfuric acid. And the inclusion of so many trivial details and the old names. And they don't go in depth of anything.
This is where the private medical colleges step in. All of them are in it for the money and are not here to do anyone any favours. They looks out for their interests. Which is why one would think with the a levels people being richer, they would cater mostly to the few stupid rich people who make their kids do a levels and then expect them to make it in public medical colleges. In the mix are also the f.sc people who got richer or the rich people who made their kids do f.sc or the f.sc people who would borrow money whose kids messed up the mcat and hence want to get into private medical colleges. Again, I think a level people would outnumber f.sc people so private medical colleges should favour them, just like public medical colleges favour f.sc people, simply because they are in the greater number.
Wish I hadn't explained myself.November 3rd, 2013, 04:08 PM #54
