Hi, I'm new here.
I can see admission season is here and most posts are about that so I will post about that as well. My aggregate is 78.3%. I applied to cpmc, lmdc and fmh. I was quite uncertain about what to do for a few days but I'm starting to lean towards cpmc. I mean I have an aggregate of 78.3. So shalamar and CMH are almost impossible. I mean my aggregate out of 87.5 becomes 69.7. To get into CMH I would need to get more than 80 questions out of 100 correct, which I won't be able to do cause I haven't been able to memorise those F.sc books well enough. For fmh I would need to get about 39 questions correct out of 60, which again I might not be able to do because I have stopped studying f.sc books after the mcat.
So going by different parameters, I would like to think colleges go a little like this:
no. of beds: LMDC
I went to sharif today and no doubt that it had the most beautiful building of all the colleges and it will be the college of the future. But it's just too far. And you know that at least for the next 5 years there will be no challenges to its degree. When I take all factors into consideration I think cpmc is best for me. I never cared out the atmosphere or other students(never got why others do). But cpmc is also very far from my house. I gave the interview and they want the money by the 7th. I just didn't like that part, the asking for money very early. I am fine with everything else. But sometimes, I'm still not sure and feel a bit conflicted. Why do most people here rank it so low.? Is it because of the merit? Just because someone with a higher merit go some place, that doesn't make it better.
Also wanted to ask people here some questions. When I think of cmh, i think of mostly high rank army people going there. So how does patient exposure work there? I mean I'm sure none of those army people will allow some students to question them. Also why do people think Shalamar is so good? I mean I get the merit is high but how does the merit being higher make it better? The building is mediocre and I think the hospital has 500 beds? Anyway, imho sharif is better than shalamar. Also what makes fmh so good? Their building is so tiny. Guess I just keep thinking about these things and that's why I am in such a conundrum.October 28th, 2013, 01:54 PM #2
but i heard that the building of shalamar is quite good and its built with a modern design.have you visited the building of shalamar??how can you say that sharif is the college of future??well seriously speaking me too is confused about FMH,shalamar and sharif.about cmh the point of clinical exposure goes into negative side.and thats why i won't suggest it.October 28th, 2013, 02:18 PM #3October 28th, 2013, 02:50 PM #4

Sharif last year merit for MBBS?October 28th, 2013, 11:47 PM #5
I couldn't agree with you more. The merit works something like this:
For people under 80% CMH and Shalimar aren't possible. Athough you have like a 78% so your chances are still there.
I think you'll easily get in FMH and LMDC.
I like CPMC actually. I'm also dissed by the fact that people rank it lower than others here -.- Its campus is nice, the faculty is great. What's the problem then.
the students are the same everywhere.
