So when do you guys think SIMS will be recognized by ECFMG?
ok so i was just checking out the SIMS medical college site in Lahore and they talk about it that it will be the best medical school in Pakistan when its done, but the new campus isn't finished yet so when do you think it will be built by and
why isn't accredited yet by ECFMG?? If so when do you guys think it will be accredited by?December 18th, 2007, 01:07 PM #2
how can it be the best medical school in Pakistan when Aga Khan is light years ahead? They spent like $90 million in the early 80's developing that place. The entire pakistan budget for education of the entire country wasnt that much back then.
Sick of Pakistanis making BOLD remarks such as "fool proof security" and "100% literacy rate". Dont ever take Sims as the "best" lol or even at the top .. And who knows about recognitionNever let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.December 19th, 2007, 03:55 PM #3
to tell you the truth i dont think SIMS will be accredited by the ECFMG anytime soon maybe in a couple of years........

King Edward is the best. BLAH
Wah cant is the best.. BLAH
UHS is the best.. BLAH
Pakistan has a weird way of deciding on things as the BEST. some go by past graduates.. some go by facilities.. some go by how many ac/s they have. some go by the kind of teachers they have. I think its fair to say the best college is the one that has the highest percentage of graduates who have became successful which is no doubt aga khan.
Most of the other govt and now private medical colleges are just pumping out doctors who become street side vendors to serve the majority of the population , KE and the rest included. They only seem good cuz a few of them go abroad and cuz of its past history of a few gradutes from each class becoming "big shots".Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.December 30th, 2007, 02:56 AM #5
Its important to keep in mind that promises made to you by admissions officials of facilities being built, money being invested or technology being implemented at various medical colleges in Pakistan should be taken with a grain of salt.
Many times there are indeed plans for things like this to occur but keep in mind that many of these plans may not end up benefiting you because they make take longer than five years to be implemented. Only judge the college based upon what is present at the time you would theoretically begin studying there, not what will supposedly be built in 3 months or 6 months or a year.
A lot of things in Pakistan are in "soon to be developed" stages for over a decade and if you join a school based on that, you may end up with regrets.December 30th, 2007, 03:19 PM #6
Totally agree with Rehan, NEVER go with what Pakistanis say will happen in the future. Its very cheap to promise things in the future here as you will not be held accountable for it. In Pakistan, not just schools, go by the ground realitiesNever let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.December 31st, 2007, 12:33 AM #7
Umm, if its not accredited then why even think about it?"Some cars have a fine tuned exhaust, so the noise they make is as fake as a hooker's smile"

Agha khan is best...ohh okay there are so many things that make it the best in Pak,totally agreed...
but still apparently best AKU is absurd too... they interview the students before final selections and one way or the other, they end up asking them about their religious veiws, and mostly, pick up those students who sound kinda liberal, so called enlightened minds! #eek ohh how do the religious veiws of anybody come in the way of admission into a medical school?? they only know it#grin ...its everybody's personal.aint it ?#yes
another interesting thing...where do the so-called high merits go when they tell someone whos really dumb, to donate them an ambulance or something like 1.5 million rupees and get a seat in the AKU medical college for sure#wink .
well, these are only a few facts, but still regarding the education standards, AKU is the best#yes !might be,such issues exist just to prove that its a Pakistani university hahha#laugh
