the biggest problems ive faced so far are just about the same as Smeer's...........but most of all its the studying part.....Its just that theres too much too cover and it seems physically impossible to do go home and study what you learned each day and then to prepare for tests. I mean we have an anatomy substage like evry 2 weeks and its impossible to study anything else besides anatomy!
A senior we met advised us to go home, take a nap, wake up, study for like 3 hrs, then study for another 3 hrs at night, and try to wake up like 5 in the moning and go for another 2 hours. I dont know about you guys but that seems a bit too crazy for me, if you know wut i mean.
Oh yeah theres this one kid i asked to tell me something about the knee joint and he's like:
"the fibrous capsule in deficient anteriorly because of the the patella and the ligamentum pattelae see chapter 4, and over here we have bla bla look at figure 3.5"
The freekin kids here have excellent memories! i mean he even memorized the see chapter 4 reference thingy, i mean comon man........That shows these kids arent that special and just have really good memorization skills!
oh yeah i got a 53 on my second substage! that a 3% improvement from last time! BOOYEAH!
well least i didnt flunk...

Many find it easier to memorize paragraphs from a textbook rather than trying to understand it conceptually. Don't worry though it'll catch up with them eventually. Just try to conceptualize everything in your head, it'll make a lot more sense and you'll remember it longer as well.
Study 8 hrs a day? Ha. maybe if there's a test the next day...

Get to know a few people who have extremely long study schedules and you'll find that out of any one of those 3 hour periods they only actually study 1/3 of that time. I see it happen all the time. A three hour study period involves sitting down, setting up your study materials, then taking a break. After twenty minutes of chatting and complaining about studying to their friends who are also there to "study," they'll return to the library, read for half an hour, then take a break. This break will be even longer, and possibly involve lunch. Finally, back to the books. Another 20 minutes, and they need a cig. Out they go. Finally, 3 hours have passed, they've done a total of 60 minutes of studying, and they pack up their books to go home and say they studied for 3 full hours.
Right.
Studying effectively is more important than studying for hours on end. (Quality not quantity... or something like that.)

I don't have broadband at the moment, I signed up w/PTCL but I'm gonna have to but their technicians so that they actually come over and install the modem. I've been really busy w/school and studying to care. Currently I'm on 56k connection .
