Please Advise Overseas Student Applying For Aga Khan And Dow.
Hi, I am currently a high school student in the USA, I want to apply to Aga Khan University and Dow for the 2014 term. When is the deadline to apply and how hard is it to get into either of the universities. I will be taking my SAT I test this Jan and March, for this reason i cannot take the SAT II subject tests the same time, so I would like to know when the deadline for the submitting the application, hopefully after march. Please advise. For anyone who is studying or has studied from either of the universities, can you please share your experience. I am still contemplating on going over seas to study. Also how can I apply? Online? or Mail?January 4th, 2014, 05:39 PM #2
Why don't you check out their websites for their respective admission deadlines?
Sorry for being useless, but for Dow Medical College the foreign/overseas seats were filled at the same time as the local ones so that was around september/october. That's when the admission process began and ended. I am sure about this. You can also apply to Jinnah Sindh Medical University (Sindh Medical College), their admission process is at the same time. The eligibility criteria is: You should have studied past four years outside of Pak (9, 10, 11 and 12th grades); you must have done bio, chem and any other subject in your A levels (which is like 11 and 12th grade); valid TOEFL/IELTS certificate with min. 500/5.0 score respectively; either IBCC equivalence certificate with min. 60% OR SAT II subjects scores of min. 550 in bio, chem and any other subject; proof of being overseas/foreign and CNIC (pak's id card) issued as Pakistani Overseas to your father.
BUT for Dow INTERNATIONAL Medical College, i think it ended around August but classes started around december. Their website has all of the details. This I cannot tell you for sure. :/
AKU conducted their entry test for locals in June this past year so maybe they will do it at the same time this year. But it is usually earlier :/
Applications were available from May. Again, i would advise you to contact them via phone or email or get someone to gather info personally.
It isn't hard to get into these universities If you have got good grades/scores then why would you be denied admission?
Dow Medical College, not the international one, has around 12 seats for overseas and 16 seats for foriegn nationals. Hope this answers one if not all of your questions.September 2nd, 2014, 03:32 PM #3
