Let’s take it that I become a doctor…..how will I know about the new medicines or what medicines to prescribe to my clients. There are lots of medicines on the market… Ariamycin, Asmafen, Cephazolin, Docloxacillin, Beconase, Febrol……I going mad with the medicines. Does anyone know how to select the best medicines for their clienst?
Well even as a doctor, you'll have to familiarize yourself with new medicines and their pharmaceutical principles.
You'll have to pick a drug for your patient based on personal experience, best results from the latest clinical trials, and the specific needs of the patient (EBM). You'll have to watch out for drug-drug interactions and contraindications like pregnancy. You'll get good with experience, practice and perhaps by practicing a lot of p-drug vignettes while in medical school.
